About Liz Thaler
Liz Thaler is a New York-based (and born, and bred) director and playwright, and a graduate of both the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and Wesleyan University. In addition to her work with IETC, she is the outgoing Artistic Director of All Out Arts/The Fresh Fruit Festival, an annual celebration of queer arts and culture–where she produced the US premiere of her play The Peddler’s Tale, directed by Richard Aven. She is a regular playwright and director for Shotz, a monthly new-work-generating event produced by Amios. Amios also developped her play Happy, the first Shotz play ever to be turned into a full-length. In addition to her theatre work (much of which you can find on this site), she directed the new web series Settling Up, which will air in January 2020.
When she’s not making plays about punks and submissives and magical vagrants, Liz likes herself a little Shakespeare. She is very proud to have founded IETC’s The Most Unkindest Cut series, which workshops bold cuts of classical plays, and hopes to create a third installment this fall.
